We had a fantastic afternoon recording an album with Alex Sipiagin, Roy Dackus and Clemens van der feen at the tracking room in Amsterdam.

Today conformation came that Sax Festival 2014 will take place in November in Amsterdam and Paul is one of the soloists participating in the event which features some of the biggest saxophone stars in the world like Branford Marsalis and Paquito D’Rivera.

April 30 2014

In april of this year the Metropole Orchestra recorded a cd with the British singer Laura Mvula in the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. This event was captured in a NTR documentary made by Lucas van Woerkum. Paul is one of the featured musicians who was followed before and during this already historic collaboration with the singer on holy ground.

Panel discussion about new cd releases in ” De mening van 6″ on radio 6.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In het programma  Mening van 6 twee deskundige panelleden: saxofonist Paul van der Feen en pianist/producer Cees Schramadie onder leiding van presentator Co de Kloet hun mening geven over nieuwe cd’s.

Ook laten de twee panelleden muziek horen van muzikanten die op de Zwarte Lijst staan of zou moeten staan.

Free winds

The last couple of years I’ve mostly been playing a Free Winds alto saxophone, manufactured in Amsterdam by sax repair genius Friso Heidinga. I’m falling deeper in love with this horn everyday and recommend all alto players to have a look in his shop.
